Spray Foam Insulation
Open-cell and closed-cell polyurethane foam that air-seals and insulates in one application.

Thermal insulation on mechanical systems pays back faster than almost any other measure in a commercial building, and it prevents condensation damage on chilled lines.
In commercial and industrial buildings, insulating piping and equipment typically returns its cost in one to three years. Bare steam and hot water lines lose heat continuously. Bare chilled lines gain it, and sweat. Both are pure waste, running 24 hours a day.
On chilled water and refrigeration lines, insulation thickness has to be calculated for the actual ambient dew point — not pulled from a generic table. In a Florida mechanical room or plenum, the dew point can be high enough that a standard thickness sweats anyway.
The vapor barrier is as important as the insulation. A perfect insulation thickness with an unsealed jacket seam will still let moisture migrate to the cold pipe surface and condense inside the insulation, where it destroys performance and eventually corrodes the pipe.
Elastomeric for cold service and low temperature. Fiberglass with ASJ jacketing for general HVAC. Mineral wool for higher temperature and fire resistance. Calcium silicate for high-temperature process. Cellular glass where compressive strength or absolute moisture resistance is required. Aerogel where space is severely constrained.
Any accessible surface above 140°F is a burn hazard and requires protection. That's a life-safety requirement, not an energy measure, and it's inspected. We install to it and document it.

Thermal Insulation pricing varies with square footage, access, existing conditions, and whether removal is required first. Most Florida projects fall in the $1.50–$5.00 per square foot installed range. Standard Insulation provides free written, itemized estimates statewide — call (561) 975-6204.
Specified per assembly. In Florida's Climate Zone 1 attic assemblies must reach R-30, and in Climate Zone 2 R-38, with R-49 a common practical target, and we'll size the assembly to hit your code requirement or your performance goal.
