Standard Insulation works throughout Ocean Breeze, Martin County, installing the full range of insulation systems that actually make sense in South Florida. The building stock in Ocean Breeze spans several decades of construction practice, and the insulation situation we find varies enormously from one street to the next — but the pattern is consistent: under-depth attics, unsealed ceiling planes, and ductwork baking in a superheated attic.
This is the part most Ocean Breeze homeowners have never had explained to them. Insulation resists heat conduction. It does absolutely nothing to stop air from moving through it. If we blow R-38 over a ceiling full of unsealed recessed light housings, plumbing penetrations, top plates, and an uninsulated attic hatch, you have paid for R-38 and you will experience something considerably less.
On every Ocean Breeze job we seal the ceiling plane first — penetrations foamed, can lights covered or replaced with airtight housings, the attic hatch weatherstripped and insulated, and bath fans verified to actually terminate outside rather than dumping humid air into the attic. Then we insulate. It adds a few hours and it changes the result substantially.
Ocean Breeze sits in a part of Florida where roof damage from a named storm is a question of when, not if. The pattern after every event is the same: water gets in through compromised roofing, saturates the attic insulation, and the property owner doesn't discover it until ceiling stains appear or the smell starts three weeks later.
Wet insulation does not dry out in a Florida attic. It stays wet, it loses R-value permanently, it grows mold, and it holds odor. We do full vacuum extraction into sealed bags, sanitize the deck and framing, and install fresh material. If your Ocean Breeze property took roof damage, have the attic looked at even if the ceiling looks fine.
A large share of Ocean Breeze construction is concrete block — CMU with interior furring strips and drywall, and empty air in between. Block has essentially no meaningful thermal resistance. A west-facing block wall in Ocean Breeze absorbs sun all afternoon and keeps radiating heat into the room well past sunset.
Fi-Foil furring-strip reflective systems and injected foam both install into that cavity from the interior, don't cost you floor space, and deliver a real system R-value where there was almost none. On the west and south elevations of a Ocean Breeze home, it's a difference you can feel with your hand on the drywall.

Most Ocean Breeze attic insulation projects fall between $1.50 and $4.50 per square foot installed. A typical 2,000 sq ft Ocean Breeze home runs roughly $2,200–$4,500 for a blown-in top-up to R-38, and $6,000–$13,000 for a full closed-cell spray foam roof deck encapsulation. Insulation removal adds about $1.00–$2.00 per square foot. Standard Insulation gives free, written, itemized estimates throughout Ocean Breeze and Martin County — call (561) 975-6204.
Ocean Breeze falls in Florida Climate Zone 2 under the Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation (8th Edition). That means R-38 minimum for attics, with R-49 being the practical target for real comfort and utility savings. Many Ocean Breeze homes built before 2005 are still measuring R-11 to R-19, which is a large part of why their summer bills are so high.
Yes. We install both open-cell and closed-cell spray foam throughout Ocean Breeze, Martin County. Closed-cell on the roof deck is the strongest option here — it air seals, controls humidity, brings your ducts into conditioned space, and adds measurable uplift resistance to your roof sheathing, which matters in a hurricane-exposed part of Florida.
We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In Martin County we can usually be on site for a free assessment within 24 to 48 hours, and emergency insulation removal after a roof leak or storm gets same-day priority whenever we can make it happen.

Yes. Standard Insulation is a licensed Florida insulation contractor carrying general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we work throughout Ocean Breeze and all of Martin County. Certificates of insurance are provided to homeowners, general contractors, and property managers on request before any work begins.
Cooling is roughly half of a typical Ocean Breeze electric bill. Bringing an under-insulated attic from R-11 up to a properly air-sealed R-38 commonly cuts the cooling portion by 20 to 30 percent — and more if your ductwork is in the attic and we add a radiant barrier. On a $300 summer bill that's usually $30 to $45 a month back in your pocket.
It depends on your building and your budget, and we'll tell you honestly which one applies. If your attic is at R-13 and you want the most improvement per dollar, blown-in fiberglass to R-38 with proper air sealing is the answer. If your ducts are in the attic and you want humidity control and the biggest total comfort win, closed-cell spray foam on the roof deck is the answer. If your roof is more than twelve years old, do the roof first — we'll say so.
